*”Our Dear Dead Drug Lord” by Alexis Scheer is on stage now at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.
There’s one week left to enjoy this mysterious clubhouse drama. There are mean girls, weird girls, nerdy girls, and dangerous girls.
This critically acclaimed play is a combination of all four. In her Center Theatre Group directorial debut, Lindsay Allbaugh does a crafty job of elevating the power dynamics of the story and showcasing the refreshing talents of Ashley Brooke, Samantha Miller, Coral Peña, and Lilian Rebelo. Featured performers include Juan Francisco Villa and Aliyah Camacho.
Our Dear Dead Drug Lord is recommended for adults and teens 16+.
It is part comedy, part drama, and thoroughly entertaining as the girls engage in various stages of truth or dare, while under the auspices that they can conjure the ghost of Pablo Escobar.
